On Behalf of the Office of the Vice President of Operations

The Vice President of Operations would like to announce that effective
Friday, March 6, 2009, the Assistant Vice President for Press and Media
Relations will be Duke Guillaume de Belgique (Scott Farrell).  Mr.
Farrell has served as the Kingdom Media Relations Officer for the
Kingdom of Caid for the past two years.  

Duke Guillaume de Belgique - has been an active member of the SCA since
1982, when he discovered the group through a demo at his high school. He
has held a variety of local and kingdom offices, including marshal and
chatelain. He served as Baron of Calafia from 1992 to 1998, and was King
of Caid in 2000 and 2002. He is a member of the Orders of Chivalry and
the Pelican, and holds an augmentation of arms.

 Scott Farrell - is a journalist, author and actor. He worked for 15
 years as editor of four national trade and consumer magazines. In 2001
 he changed careers to become a full-time freelance writer, and founded
 the Chivalry Today Educational Program. His writing has appeared in Men
 Today, Military History, Police, Word San Diego, and Renaissance
 Magazines. He is a contributing editor to the books Living A Life Of
 Value (2006, Values Of The Wise Press; Jason Merchey editor) and the
 forthcoming Martial Arts and Philosophy (2009, Open Court Press; Damon
 Young, PhD editor). He has spoken to audiences at various educational
 institutions, including San Diego State University, University of
 California Irvine, University of LaVerne, California State Long Beach
 and several public, private and charter middle and elementary schools.

Mr. Reed would like to thank Stephanie Drummonds (Baroness Melisande de
Canonwald) for her service in this office over the past two years.  Ms.
Drummonds has handled myriad projects, working to increase awareness and
enhance the image of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. in the
eyes of both the press and the general public.  

We have every confidence that the continued work of this office will be
in capable hands.
