Well I've seen Sable Thistles given out for "research". Rarely, but I've
seen it. (A quick survey of just the 'A's" in the 1993 Order of Precedence
shows one for "book heraldry" and one for "renaissance research".) 
And isn't the Lion ostensibly for authenticity?
