Greetings good gentles of the Known World,
Pardon my intrusion, but given the differing natures of our kingdoms I am
seeking input on matters affecting the entire Known World...
Discourse on the nature of constabulary work within the Society, its
similarities and differences from law enforcement and traditional security
work, and the populace's expectations of its constabulary.

I do not believe that it would be a good idea to act a law
enforcement. In the past whenever I have done constable duty it was
alway's with if something goes wrong call the mundane authorities. I am
not sure what would have to be done for the constabules to have more
authority, but I bet it would be expensive and it is a grey area that I am
not sure if I want to deal with.

Discussion on the nature of large scale warfare within
the Society and our standards of period authenticity in kit, fighting
styles, tactics, organization, and combat "rules".
I think that there should be a difference between grand melees and
wars, ie. Grand melee no killing from behind, no archers, no siege weapons.
just melee fighting. Wars having all of the above. I personally believe
that anything that if it doesn't pass the ten foot rule it should not be
allowed. However this is only my personnal opinion, that if you wear amor
that is grossly mundane it should be covered. Also when kingdoms have a war
or melee they need to decide before the fighting starts what the preceived
armor requirements are ie. side of the helm kill from arow or not. It is
hard to change calling blows after you have fought a different way for so
long.

Opinions on "improving" inter kingdom relations by having "wars" with
actual impact (ie possession of land, tributes, etc) beyond symbolic
prizes. Ideas on "play" politics and diplomacy being encouraged.
The idea of fighting for actual stuff is something that I have thought
about and I see a problem with it. If for example at a war the side that
wins claims overlordship of the losing kingdom for the year. Now if someone
could win overlordship of the kingdom a lot of people would radically
change what caliber of blow it would take to kill them and I could see a
lot of injuries happening over something like this. But I still think it
would be cool.

/ My thanks to you for your patience and assistance in this matter. Pax
vobiscum.
