Or perhaps I am taking your adjective of "ceremonial" differently than
you
really meant. In many modern nations, the real power is in the Prime
Minister
while the President's office is often said to be ceremonial. Although I
guess
the term does not necessarily mean only ceremonial.

So Amra, and the others here discussing principalities, how do you
envision
your princes and princesses?

This unsigned piece(sorry, I am really not complaining, but I
don't know to whom to attribute this.) is interesting to read.
I did not take the meaning as saying "only ceremonial" but there
is no denying that ceremony is an important part of the office of
Prince and Princess. This is not to say that they will have no say in
things. They will not be able to over-ride the will of the King, but
with their Principality officers to advise, them, they reign over
their lands.
And yes, there is -Always- a seneschal. The only thing that
changes from region is that we have ceremonies where we did not
(principality court) and the officers are no longer basically only
receiving paper and forwarding it to Kingdom, they are actually
producing information, and making decisions. The Chronicler publishes
a newsletter. The Herald is almost unchanged from what regional level
does now. The seneschal is still responsible for local and regional
law. Arts and Sciences is still promoted, only maybe at Principality
events as well as Kingdom ones. See, the only real thing that changes
is the addition of Coronet tourney, and the pomp and ceremony that the
regions are unable to hold now.
