I think the ladies of Ansteorra are more than strong enough
to get to the foot of the dais without aid!

Seriously, I think that anyone should choose *for
themselves* if they want an escort, and if so *they* should
ask (and anyone so asked should generally be honored to be
of assistance).

Ask Mistress Adelicia her opinion about this for a better,
more complete statement. If Master Robin is there, he will
escort her. If Robin is not, she does not want an escort.
To paraphrase my memory of her remarks: the problem she has
is that it is very difficult to say, in effect, "go away, I
don't want you" when someone has jumped up and is publicly
offering their arm. There can also be ugly disputes about
who gets to escort.

Now, I *can* see a need for someone to lend a hand if the
dais has stairs leading up to it. A guardsman or two could
be stationed at the bottom to offer a hand, which could be
accepted or refused.

Another court idea while I'm here: "mainbour". A vassal was
often said to be "under the hand" of their lord. If the
vassal was summoned into another court, they often had the
right to have their lord go into the court instead, and the
lord would then summon the vassal into his own court to rule
and make a judgment. If the Crown or Baron/ess knows that
someone is a feudal dependent of another, the one holding
court could summon the lord/lady, and the lord/lady could
pass it on in their own court. *I* like the idea; I
provided for it in my fealty contract with my liege lady,
Baroness Kay of Triasterium of the Middle Kingdom. I don't
know about others -- would a squire rather get his Falcon
from his knight in a meeting of his household, say, or in a
public forum directly? I guess it depends on the person.
