Thank you, Your Grace. I have mentioned before this Florilegium file:
crown-cost-msg    (18K) 12/30/96    The monetary and other costs of being a  
                                       crown in the SCA.

If you or any other past crowns, here or from out-of-kingdom, have additional
comments to make on this subject, I would love to have them for this file.
These are some of the hidden costs that are often not known by potential
competitors for the Crown or others.

Crowns have lost jobs, driven their cars into the ground, run up enormous
phone bills and more trying to meet our (and their) expectations of what an 
SCA Crown should do. Reading these messages years ago gave me another
perspective on what is required of our Crowns.
