ANST - Gulf War IX dates vs. Spring Break

Greetings, all:

I wrote earlier regarding university schedules for Spring Break in March 2000,
and whether these dates coincide with each other or with the scheduled dates for
Gulf Wars. My good friend and cousin Sir Kief reminded me that elementary and
secondary school schedules may play as big a role, or bigger, in determining
which of our fellow Ansteorrans will be able to attend.

Therefore, some more food for thought:

Spring Break schedules for public school systems:
March 5-11

March 12-18
- Austin ISD
- Fort Worth ISD
- Houston ISD
- San Antonio ISD

March 19-25

Hmmm... I think I'm beginning to see a pattern here... :-)

I checked the Web for Dallas ISD, Oklahoma City ISD, and Tulsa ISD, but wasn't
able to dig out the Spring Break schedule for calendar year 1999-2000. If any of
you know this information, please add it to what I've discovered and share it
here with the rest of us.

For reference, here again is what I found concerning universities:
March 5-11 (Mardi Gras week in New Orleans)
- Florida State University (Tallahasee, FL)
- Mississippi State University (Starkville, MS)
- Tulane (New Orleans, LA)

March 12-18
- North Texas State University (Denton, TX)
- University of Houston (Houston, TX)
- University of Texas (Austin, TX)
- Texas A&M University (College Station, TX)
- Oklahoma State University (Tulsa, OK)
- University of Oklahoma (Norman/Oklahoma City, OK)

March 26 - April 1
- Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, LA)
