1. What attracted you to the SCA?    Originally, a friend told me about fighter practice.  The second time -  sweet, welcoming people in Steppes who invited me to spend time with them (and the fun Glaslyn event)

2. What is your perspective of what the SCA is to you?

To me, it is a group of individuals who love history in one form or fashion. It is a place where I can go to learn more about recreating another time and place. A place where I can make friends with others whom appreciate history like I do.


3. Where do you invest the most time and energy in the SCA (household, local group, kingdom, specific activity)

Dancing, for sure is first, next is probably costuming


4. How long before you started to take initiative in the SCA (applying for an office, organizing an activity, etc.?)

Never did in Bryn Gwlad, but when I started up again here in Steppes it took about a year.


5. Were there instances that could have "run you out of the SCA"..why did they not...or why did you come back?

Yep - picky people. I moved on to *gasp* HFS in Austin.  Came back when I moved to Dallas and went on a fabric shopping excursion with some fun-loving women! (Loni and Tammy)


6. How long before you burned out? Why did you burn out? Is there anything anyone could have done to help keep you from "burning out"?

Haven't really burnt out.


7. What do you get out of the SCA?

Friends, family, and education. A really nifty place to vacation on the weekends!


8. If you have your AoA...how long did you get it after starting to participate in the SCA?        I was in BG for maybe 6 months... Then after I started up again in Steppes it took a year and a half. So  2 years total.

and last but not least...why do you think that people should join the SCA and stay in it?

Because we are fun!  It is a great place to meet new and interesting people and to learn some new skills as an artisan, warrior, bard, etc.
