of the problems with a lot of event stewars, autocrats or what ever you may
wish to call them , is that they don't take this into consideration. The
Baroness of Dun Or and several others of us there either have to use
wheelchairs at larger events, or the little motorized scooters...and I have
heard several really rude comments about it.

Thank you everyone for bringing this up. I am going to talk from a much
different perspective. I have a daughter (Briana Dolfin) who has been
confined to a wheelchair her entire life, almost 17 years. Fortunately most
site announcements tell us just enough to decide if we should attempt the
site or not. Though, through our years, we have found many a site that we
would have packed up and gone back home if it were not for a many hour trip.

Here is a list of troubles that we have had, sometimes the bad is easier to
explain than what is good.

Parking that is near the campsite is reserved for staff or VIP's only.
Handicap portapotties are placed on the oposite side of a ditch or an
impassible obsticle for a wheelchair.
Accessible doors are block for one reason or another
Tables for feast are too close together
Courts are difficult to get a chair where the person can see (not wide
enough aisleways.

Please note that this has been over the last 10+ years that we have had
these experiences. I know that they are not intentional, they are just
uneducated. Please, please, please put in site announcements if it is
wheelchair accessible, if electricity is available for the disabled, and/or
any feature that could be handicap friendly.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me off the list
either by phone or email. Phone: 817-459-3553.

In service,
Rosalia (Brianna's Mom)
