Maybe generations should be judged more like eras than in numbers of years.
For instance, the party generation, the family oriented generation, the
generation when rapier fighting grew popular, the generation of archery,
etc. The society is an ever changing body of people. Depending on society in
general, rules change, bureaucracy changes, differing personality types
become powerful within the groups, and they have an effect on new
generations.
