I think it has become obvious that adding fighting to such
an endeavor would not be too popular or that it would face
a dearth of attendees because of no fighting. But I think I'm
having poor Master Ihon take flak he should not be a target
for. We were discussing this and how to make it popular for
everyone, so fighting was considered. It currently appears that
he is being ganged up on without even stepping into the ring.
I feel like I used his name in vain and therefore feel a bit
responsible for the comments directed to the idea.

I also haven't heard any commentary about from fighters who
are not involved in any of the three main foci of this event.
Master Ihon was worried about lack of attendance to such an
experiment and we were brainstorming ways to allow activity
to a variety of interests. I think he would be just as happy to
not have martial activities involved as the commentators so
far.

So, the real question is, "would an event just focussing on
brewing and bardcraft with a minor in cookery and then creating
as period an environment as possible be able to stand on its own?"

I think it would.
