*Annual Estrella War Banana Bread Bakeoff*

Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 7:30pm (bread Drop off 5:00pm to 7:30pm)

Barony of Sundragon Baronial Pavilion

The CPQBB (Committee for the Preservation of Quality Banana Bread) will
once again host the Annual Estrella War Banana Bread Bakeoff on Thursday
evening at the war. This ancient and venerable competition will continue to
evolve as we learn from previous years, so please note the details and
changes below.

We will continue with the same categories that we had last year including
the populous choice, which will give those in attendance and opportunity to
sample the breads and determine their favorites. Prizes will be given in
the following categories:

- Traditional Banana Breads (with or without nuts)

- Non-traditional Banana Breads (although they must still contain bananas)

- Gluten Free Banana Breads

- Populous Choice

This year we will limit contestants to a single entry in the first two
categories. This means that competitors can either enter a traditional or a
non-traditional banana bread entry, but not entries in both categories.
Competitors may also enter a gluten free banana bread regardless of whether
or not they have made an entry in one of the first two categories. All
entries in the first three categories will be automatically entered into
the Populous Choice category. In addition contestants may also add as many
additional entries as they wish to compete in the Populous Choice. If you
would like to ensure that you have a place to sit during the competition,
please bring a chair with you.

Anyone interested in competing in this time honored competition may deliver
their entries to the Sun Dragon Baronial Encampment between 5:00 and 7:30
PM on the day of the competition (Thursday, February 27th).

Rules and Legal Jargonese: All entries must be made by the entrant, but do
not need to be made on site. Both breads with and without nuts will be
acceptable, as well as breads that do not meet the traditional definition
of banana bread provided they do in fact contain bananas and are a bread.
Winner will be chosen by a panel of well-qualified judges who have all
passed the CPQBB exhaustive pre-judging questionnaire and qualification
review. Breads will be judged and prizes awarded in three categories,
traditional, non-traditional and gluten free as well as a populous choice.
Contrary to popular belief the CPQBB is not just a front set up by Duke
Jonathon to aid in the acquisition of Banana Bread… there are other people
involved as well. Entries will be judged without the judges knowing who
produced the entry. Judges will provide their own butter or spread of
choice. Duke Jonathon and the CPQBB maintain no responsibility for the
remains of entries making it back to the entrant, as it is expected that
any crumbs left by the judges will be pilfered by wannabe judges and
mooches who unlike His Grace did not come up with this brilliant idea to
get his fill of banana bread.
