What's a 2 layer tip? What's a 3 layer tip?

Even if you can't tell a difference in the impact of a 1/2" padded and
a 1" padded UHMW cored blunt there is a difference

When is the last time you were shot with a 1/2" padded blunt in the side
of the head or throat while wearing minimal rapier armor? I am going
to bet never since I know you play by the rules.

Ask the folks who have been around a while, they can tell you what a
1/2" padded blunt on fiberglass can do to a rapier mask? Gilli,
Plachoya are ya'll out there? We know that 1" padded blunts greatly
reduce the damage done to the masks.

I few years ago I and some others did some clay impact tests modeled on
the standard tests used to evaluate the backface signature for
bulletproof vests. Basically the idea is you take some Roma Plastalina
oil based modeling clay (which is determined to be about the same
density as flesh) and shoot it your projectile and measure how deep the
impact crater is. Baldar blunts leave an impressive dent (the egg
baldars were scary as hell) properly padded UHMW is much more friendly
and there was a significant difference in 1/2" and 1" padded blunts.
How bad something hurts or what it feels like is often just a temporary
thing with your surface sensory nerves. How bad something injures you
and how long it takes to heal is directly related to how deep the trauma
is inflicted on the body.
