Sorry, Claire, this is about the only time. Modius asked that I do it at
this time so that the WS's would have plenty of time for pickup fights,
teaching, etc., before the circle.

In addition to all the other fun to be expected at Guardian this April 14,
there will also be an SCA Cut&Thrust class, approved by Master/Don Modius,
after the tournament. This will likely occur at the same time as the White
Scarf circle, so as to maximize the time between the tournament and Circle
for the White Scarves have for pickup fights and instruction. Apologies to
any WS's who might wish to attend the class, but if time can be found for
individual (or small group) training and instruction, then I will try to
accommodate any I can.

The class will be a beginning-level class for Cut&Thrust in the SCA. It will
be very similar to the one Aeron Harper taught at Steppes Warlord last year.
We will be covering the rules and armor/equipment requirements for C&T in
the SCA and Ansteorra, discuss the history of sidesword, and learn the
basics from two of the most popular masters of the time, Marozzo and
dall'Aggochie. Masks may be used for some drills, but not required for all.
Pads, helmet, and the additional armor requirements for Cut&Thrust will not
be needed as the class will be employing slowly executed drills with no
contact intended. There will be a limited supply of loaner blades, but any
35"-45" Darkwood, Del Tin, or Angus Trim rapier, bated rapier, sidesword, or
backsword will work, though one around 35"-37"

would be most recommended.

There will also be a handout for students to use for individual and group
study.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at
kevwilson at swbell.net

Yours in service,

Ld. Corvin di Fenarro

Cadet to Master/Don Aeron Harper

What about the Alchem Rapier blade (the ones that look like the safeflex
daggers all grown up)? That is one that I use for C&T that last I checked
were legal?

Corvin,

The cadets will be meeting in a Cadet's Corner circle at that time. I
thought you'd be joining us?
Is there any other time for this class? I'd love to take it but I am running
the Cadet's Corner.

Claire
