[Bards] Mooneschadowe Bardic Competition

To the Bards of Ansteorra:

I am keenly aware that there are many great bards of Ansteorra who have
never won the title of Minstrel of Mooneschadowe. Well, this year may be
your chance, for it is the twenty-first Mooneschadowe Guardian, and the
Shire "comes of age!"

So, appropriately, I have made the theme of this year's competition,
"Maturity" (or the lack thereof), to be defined as you will in performance.

The traditional Guardian Bardic format will be used. Everyone will perform
two pieces, then finalists will be picked to perform a third (unless we have
far too many participants to allow everyone two pieces). There will be
prizes for the categories of song, story, poem, instrumental, and other. As
well as for the best piece on Maturity. Then there is, of course, the title
of Minstrel of Mooneschadowe to be awarded.

I will also look favorably upon any bard, incorporating into their
performance a story either from the homeland of their persona, or actually
*about* their persona. Consider this a chance to earn the appreciation of
the judge, though it is not required to win.

Spread the word to all your fellow bards, as well as people who used to be
and/or SHOULD be bards!

Then come and compete to be the next Minstrel of Mooneschadowe!
(or, as my little brother flubbed it once... the Bard of Moonshine!)

14th Minstrel of Mooneschadowe

Moonschadowe Guardian will be held the weekend of September 14-16, at Will
Roger's Boy Scout Camp outside Cleveland, Oklahoma.

***AND...just in case the concept of a wonderful day of Bardic *isn't*
enough to pull you up north, may I also mention that we will be having an
excellent German feast (I've been to the tastings), to be accompanied by
Oxlade's Dark German Beer!***
