[Bards] Unique Period Performance??

In my recent researches on period harp-playing I came across the following note in Carol Lloyd Wood's "The Chaucer Songbook"
 
"An entry from 1331 concerns land which 'Roland le Fartere held of the King's progenitors by the service of making a leap, a whistle and a fart'" - Register of Royal and Domestic Minstrels, 174
 
Such largesse for what must have been a truly impressive performance!
