Here is my best piece of advice...

Sit down with either myself, or one of the other local heralds or go to the
table at coronation.  Then once the device is submitted (which means that it
will be conflict checked), presume that it will be passed.  There is a
chance this will  backfire, but for most this will not bite you.

If this makes you to nervous (like I know it does for some) then go ahead
and use the black star tabard, or something else like it.
