populace and officer’s meeting minutes.  If anyone

Gate’s Edge Populace Meeting Minutes May 2003

2 first time attendees

Word Fame
-Lord Carluccio di Baia is the new Bordermarch archery
champion.
-His Highness Ulsted won crown.
-Crown had Gate’s Edge in attendance-Lord Bowen, Lord
Matthias, Lady Evelun, Lady Serin and Lady Natalia.
-Lady Evelun’s device passed.
-Lord Snorri passed his exams.

Court of Love
-Probably in October-form to be resubmitted.
-Archery-Baron Talmon in charge.
   +Miniature castle to be made with heads that fall
when hit.
   +A&S portion that grants extra “lives”
   +Period equipment wins all ties.
-Equestrian-need to speak with person.
-Bardic will have “best documentation” and “first
competition” as well as overall champion.
-Heraldic-need to speak with Annis.
-Hat Lunch-Dolphin.

Classes
-Period poison and aphrodisiac class.
-Thrown Weapons marshaled class.
-Naughty Bardic Class.
-Brian mentioned awards for best death and most
chivalric.
-Pass Down

Next meeting June 8th @ Meyer Park before fighter
practice.

Academy of Rapier
-To be held in conjunction with Stargate’s fall event.
-Sept. 12th
-Greek/Roman theme
-Will have difficulty tiers.
-Classes will mainly be handled by Stargate and
academy side will focus on fighting.

Kingdom Heraldic and Scribal Symposium
-June 28th @ same location Stargate Yule was held.
-Friday night-setup help needed.
-Takedown between 4 and 5.

-Herbalist will meet at Groa’s
-Archery-difficulties with time and location in
may-still had 7 in attendance-2 from Cuttinshoot.
Next shoot will be at Eadric’s Jun 7th from 4-dinner.
-Newcomers @ Katherine’s on 28th
-One newcomer interested in youth rapier and directed
to Tues. night fighter practice.
-New Deputy Knight marshal-Lord Matthias
-Thurs night is rapier at Natalia and Matthias’
-Beading will now be by appointment only.
-June 1st will be homemakers in conjunction with
fighter practice.  They will be doing basket weaving.
-Next Tues. is charter painting.  Invitations are
available for painting. Scribal challenge has moved to
coordination.

Populace business
Unanimous vote in favor of getting a storage facility.

MSF
-No pre-paid feast.
-Budget for feast changed from $400 to $320.
-Calculated at 80 people at $4 each from historical
numbers.
-Goal is to break even.
-Add need to be changed to have “No site fee” in bold
letter and limited site at door.
-Feast $6.

-Site fee is $225 + $ per head
-Equestrian $50
