"Per chevron" was not uncommon in period, but I don't ever remember
seeing "per chevron inverted" in period armory.  So would you mind
also mentioning "per chevron" to the client?  If they still require
something that's point downwards like this, well, that's that.  But
maybe they don't care so much and they'd be just as happy with a point
upwards.

Of course, conflicts may occur under one proposal or the other.
