I'm sorry to hear that.  I wish I could help, but I don't recognize the
culprit.  I'd guess that picking and destroying the culprits will help some,
and maybe the soap spray.  Another possibility is making up a hot pepper spray
or a garlic/pepper spray, a lot of pests are believed to hate the taste of
those.

This is theory for me, most of my pest problems so far have larger culprits.
Cats that roll on melon seedlings,  the basset hound that broke into the yard
and romped through the beds before leaving a "present" on my only spinach <G>.

I hope something works out to save your comfrey/columbine <G>!
