Once upon a time @ college...
I was sitting up late one night at the dorms writing a letter. As was my
habit, I was sitting outside the supply closet when the mother of all
roaches came out of that dark, dank room into the hallway. She was moving
towards me. Thinking quickly, I grabbed a sheet of paper and used it to
crush her chitonous body. There was a satisfying "crunch" as I ground her
into the carpet. I went back to my letter.
Four hours later, I was ready to go to bed. I peeked under the paper,
prepared to throw it away. IT WAS STILL MOVING!!!!!
I let go of the paper & ran for my room.
In the morning, the paper (and roach) were gone.
I don't think your theory works...
