Subject: PERS Lost Books in SF
As many of you know, I have been moving about a good deal in the last six
months. Sometime during that period, when my worldly goods (what there
is
of them) were stored at Crocker's Lockers in SF, someone broke into my
space, changed the locks, and stole all my books and records - many
irreplaceable.

I had approximately 35 cartons of books stolen, and 2 boxes of LPs,
primarily ME, but a lot of other ethnic music, classical, and my
priceless
60s psychedelic collection - original Dead, Airplane, Doors - and many SF
bands on small labels, old 30s blues, and jazz. Of all this, they missed
only 3 cartons of books and I had about 12 LPs out on loan, so this is
all
I have left. :-(

My library consisted of a plethora of dance related books (movement
analysis, dance criticism, history, biographies of Duncan, Diaghalev, St.
Denis, Denis/Shawn Dancers & their tours, dance production, jazz, tap,
history, etc.) as well as a bunch of anthropology (cultures from Native
American, South American, Asia, AFrica, the ME), mysticism, Jewish
literature & references, herbalism, tarot & other magic reference books,
and others I wish I'd kept a list of.

On the fiction side, a complete collection of Heinlein, Wouk, Anne Rice,
Tim Robbins, the Hitchiker's Guide collection (Doug Adams), Frank
Herbert,
Aldous Huxley, EA Poe, David Brin, and too many others...

Reason I'm writing to the list? If you are SF based, and you frequent
used
book or record stores, or see folks selling things by MUNI entrances, and
you happen to browse through them and find my name(s) (Beth Youngdoff,
Baraka, or a library embosser with my "real" name) or sign (Libra), I
would
greatly appreciate it if you would purchase same, or ask the shop owner
to
hold it for me and find out the price. I'm hoping to redeem as much as I
can find, as I get the $$.
