HERB - Old roses

All this talk about old roses is making me salivate. I was talking
offline with another list member about A&S entries concerning
roses. Wouldn't it be neat to put together a cross-entry display?
Old roses. Medieval care of them (I've got wood block pictures
in my head of a woman in a cotehardie pruning them for some
reason). Uses with the results during and after rose season.
Balms. Ointments. Food. It'd be one heck of a project.
(And no, Rhi, I'm not. Get it out of your head right now. *grin*)

Anyone done this before?
