might I add a reminder that herbs work gently and slowly. What ever you
choose to try you will have to give it some time. many herbs take several
weeks or more to build up enough to show an effect. So do not expect
anything close to the quick dramatic changes seen with pharmaceutical.
Valerian is good but it is not advisable for long term use. you might look
at St. John's wort and try some normalizing herbs like red raspberry leaf,
Dong Quai, vitex. These may help to stabilize the hormonal levels. I agree
at this age particularly, hormones are often behind emotional problems.
Also look at diet. You might get your physician to refer you to a
nutritionist to work on that. I look and see what else I can find for you.
