Agreed. WholeHEARTEDLY. Now, assuming that your doctor is
ammenable, consider also discussing with them changes to diet,
foods to avoid (either because they cause bronchial spasms or
because they're treated with sulfites). Some herbs that have
been traditionally used in conjunction with the treatment of
Asthma are Pau d' Arco (an antibiotic), Lobelia herbal extract
(a bronchial smooth muscle relaxant), and also herbs like
echinacea, Ma Huang, juniper berries, and slippery elm.

DON'T blindly take these herbs to try to treat yourself. Some of
them can be toxic, some of them can cause allergic reactions, and
some of them are still only in study or used as folk cures. Research
them. Then talk to your doctor armed with knowledge. If they won't
talk to you about them, be persistent or find a doctor who will. It
may be that none of them are appropriate for you. It may be that
there are other choices that are better.
