Lavender soap for acne? I've never heard that one. I know a couple who would love that. Acne medication is so expensive

I always thought it would be a hard thing to do too! But I had made up my
mind to try it. Mostly because I had some home made lavender soap given
to me for my teens for acne. Shhhh don't tell them I said that!
I couldn't find it any where to buy so.......I decided to ask questions
here and I got a lot of help!
Glycerine soap is way too easy to make. I couldn't believe how simple it
was. Now the soap using lye is a bit more involved but still not hard.
I have included a recipe from a lady on this list which is from earlier
this year.
Also the Natural Soap Making Book by Susan Miller Cavitch and Soothing
Soaps by Sandy Maine are my bibles for soap making.
Try it! It's fun!

Soap....

3 cups fat Glass measuring cup
1 cup distilled water Wooden spoon
1/4cup+2tbls. lye Glass mixing bowl
Candy thermometer
Vaseline 8x8 glass baking dish or mold
Enamel cooking pot

About 1/4 cup flower petals, cinnamon, oatmeal
ground in food processor or whatever strikes your
fancy. Flower petals should be free of chemicals.
Adding a few drops of essential oil helps to enhance
aroma.

Generously spread vaseline inside the baking dish,
set aside. Add lye to water in glass measuring cup.
Cool to 90o, stir carefully.
Melt fat, heat to 120o, stir occasionally, scraping
sides of pan to get all.
Check temps, when ready mix immediately pouring fat
into glass mixing bowl, slowly add the dye. Mix well
until some runs off the spoon and lies in a ribbon on
top of the mixture.
Quickly add rest of the ingredients, mix well then
pour into dish or mold. Let air dry for 24 hours then
wrap and store in dry place for one month.
Take out of mold, cut and polish bars with soft
cloth.

Experiment with different types of oils, essences,
etc. and have fun!! 8^) Dorothy~~~~~
