"Strong, pungent, cleansing horseradish. . .turns up in numbers of country 
cures for coughs, colds, and related problems:  for hoarseness, infuse 4 oz. 
(100 g) of the fresh, chopped root in 20 oz. (600 ml) of hot water for 2 
hours; then add a little honey.  Swallow a teaspoon very slowly, repeat 2 or 
3 times."

she also suggests Onion and Cayenne. . .
