Hey, he could always make mock California Roll -

Make the rice, add a little sugar and rice vinigar, and chill.
When cold, mix in slivers of cucumber, toasted sesame seeds, torn up pieces
of nori, and imitation crab - have a little soy sauce and wasabi on the
side...
All the taste of California roll, without the hassle of having to roll it up
neatly and slicing it...

Melandra, who really misses traveling 15 minutes for sushi - the closest
place here is about 60 miles away...
