Beware of raw honey. It is notorious for botulism.
Pasteurizing does nothing to change the wonderful beneficial properties of
honey.
Honey promotes wound healing because of the high sugar content.
This is not a new discovery, it nourishes wounds. It is used in medicine
where there is particularly poor circulation to a wound and/or very poor
overall nutrition. Raw honey should never be used for this because of the
danger of introducing bacteria. The news does not always get it right.
