[Herbalist] coriander

I have been looking for the answer to when you should harvest the coriander
seeds - the seeds are green and full now.  My research doesn't seem to be
showing a specific timeframe when to harvest.  I was also curious if anyone
had a kinder means of ridding pests of an herb garden?  I have catipillars
on my dill and small gray green bugs on my coriander - but would like to
stay away from the harsher commercial stuff if I can.
