My personal preference for bead drying is to use quilting pins and a
piece of cardboard. Form the bead, run the pin through the center,
poke it into the cardboard, and slide the bead up and down as needed.
I've found this to be much more reliable than string. String has, for
me, had a tendency to pull into the bead itself resulting in
non-uniform holes and lopsided beads on occasion.
