the above are just a few of the sources I could find for a few medieval
apple recipes. I did find some about crab apples but I think that apples
were more popular. Also, from what I can tell from the art of the times,
there are many more pears depicted than any other large fruit. It almost
seems fashionable to be caught eating a pear. Below is a link that I found
that discusses the description of the apple-some of those descriptions lead
me to believe they may be talking about pears. I hope this is helpful to
