[Herbalist] Gerita's Garden Report

Hi Gerita;

I lurk a lot too. 8^) I live in New Mexico and have found that my lavender
does best in the local nasty alkiline soil. Apparently, it doesn't like
rich soil, mulch, compost or pampering. As I kill most things regularly,
except cactus and African Violets (go figure!), I was pleased to discover
this.

Good luck...

Subject: [Herbalist] Garden Report

Hello, all,

I'm relatively new here, and have been lurking for a few weeks to boot.
The garden reports have spurred me to thinking, and as usual, questions
come from that.

I currently have: <snip>

English Lavender: also in a huge pot, in a little more shade than the
Rosemary. Can't decide whether to live or die. I really want this
unruly little guy to survive. Is there something I should be doing?
