Greetings unto my esteemed friends of Loch Ruadh,
Would that I could be in two places at once. I sincerely would like to have
been at Lughnasad this weekend and have heard reports of much fun and
camaraderie that was had there. My thoughts were certainly with you. I want
to thank everyone for taking such good care of my lady and family in my
absence. I must say that I was a little concerned when, upon my arrival
home, one of my sons came sprinting out of our manor. Such excitement in
those wide, shining eyes! Though I must say I'm concerned for *someone's*
judgment gifting this lad such gruesome weapons! I had to go to four rooms
of the manor, before finding a safe place to temporarily stow the spear,
until it can be safely mounted. (If it falls over, the pets will be
decapitated!) Missing the chance to witness the competitions and the
camaraderie of the day was disappointing, but the truly depressing aspect is
that now my 11 year old son can truthfully claim to have won more adult SCA
tournaments than his own father! Oh, the embarrassment, but it is tempered a
bit by a smidgen of father's pride. I guess my new tag line will have to be
"this old tree doesn't fall far from the apple." :-)
Thank you all for the love and caring you have shown my family and myself.
That is something I will always cherish, unto the grave. Be well, and until
we meet again, I remain yours in friendship,
Baron Armand Dragonetti
