First dish I cooked - hard to say exactly, macaroni and cheese casserole
(from scratch, natch), meatloaf, peach cobbler those are all in there by
the time i was 8 or so. church suppers by the time i was eleven or
twelve.

first sca feast - i -wanted- to cook sca feasts in the west in the
mid-70's but was told that it was impossible to do a feast in conjunction
with an event. simply couldn't be done. so i contented myself with yule
feasts for the mythopoeic society (mostlythe same folks, different day,
different clothes). once i landed in the east kingdom in '79 and got to
help out in kitchens with Jaelle, Bishop Geoffrey, Melisande, Igor Bear,
and such - I never looked back.

brid's question - I cooked before I was in the SCA, but the SCA did much
to shape me as the cook I am today.
