SC - Decline in members signing up for feast.... Opinions?

Pardon me, but I must be missing something. Why would the late arrival of some
out-of-town Royalty affect the seating at a feast?

Unless they made reservations like anyone else, they shouldn't be eating
the feast. Even if the cook decided to accomadate these folks, wouldn't
it be just one or two people? Maybe one or two more if they have children.
I don't see how just a few chairs would affect a household.

Don't the Royalty sit at the headtable, anyway?

Royalty or not, no one should expect to be squeezed into a sold-out feast
after the deadline.

Am I mis-reading what happened?
