I didn't realize there would be general interest in this,
but since there seems to be some I'll repost what I sent
privately.

I suggested "Espere un momento para que le busque un
traductor," which is not quite literal but sounds nice. If
you want to be really formal you can insert "Usted" after
"espere," but the first version is already being polite.

For telemarketers, you might prefer one of the following
phrases:

Ya tenemos demasiado: We already have too much.

Ha muerto: S/He's dead.

Lo siento, el numero que ha marcado no esta en servicio:
I'm sorry, the number you have called is not in service.

Corre! Que vienen!: Run! They're coming!
If desired, follow "vienen" with the following to
indicate who is coming:
los polis: the police
los marcianos: the Martians
los comunistas: the comunists
los capitalistas: the capitalists
los rojos: the reds
los reaccionarios: the reactionaries
los venusianos: the Venusians
los imperialistas: the imperialists
los bibliotecarios: the librarians

No vivo aqui: I don't live here

Solamente estoy para quitarles la tele : I'm only here to
steal the television.

Si no llame usted sobre el puesto con ________, no puedo
hablar ahora: If you're not calling about the job with
_________, I can't talk now.
el imperio malvado: the evil empire
el rey de _______: the king of ________
las Naciones Unidas: the United Nations
     Carlo Magno: Charlemagne
You can also use the list under Corre! Que vienen!

No esta Dave: Dave's not here.

Lo siento, su pizza todavia no esta lista: I'm sorry, your
pizza still isn't ready.

Dana/Ximena,
not at all in the mood to work today
