Stefan,
I'd advise spending enough money to get an accurate scale, one that
measures in ounces as well as pounds.  Try to find one with a large scale
surface. I made the mistake of buying one that's too small.  So, when I'm
weighing ingredients for canning, I have to do it in small batches.
