Ah, but old English uses a different alphabet, because it's got all
those thorns and stuff. Like that Y in "Ye" above, which would appear
in old english as a wossname, and be transliterated as either "y" or
"th" depending on how you do it. Ditto for the di-thingy that ends up
as "ae", long esses, standardisation of i/j and u/v, and so on, to make
it semi-readable and (my main reason for doing it, when I do) easily
typable without ascending into high ASCII or odd character sets.
