>(actually the more interesting food question might
>be what do Society folk eat while on the road?)

Most of our "central" West Kingdom (NoCal) events are within about 2
hours drive - sometimes a bit longer but generally not over 4.

If i'm travelling with my consort - which isn't often as he works
Saturdays and this year his boss let him off *once* (June Crown), not
counting Thanksgiving and Christmas, when he was with his mother in
SoCal - we're usually leaving around 8:30 PM or later on a Friday -
and he hasn't eaten any dinner. So we stop at some eeeeevil place
like Denny's - where i can eat something like a chicken Caesar salad.
If i've already eaten we stop at his favorite place, Taco Hell, errr,
i mean Taco Bell (shudder). He generally has a giant vast huge
monstrous soda - Coke or Dr. Pepper - with plenty of ice.

More often i'm driving alone. I take bottled water (i'm quite
embarrassed to say my favorite is Fiji Water) and/or a favorite
Odwalla juice blend, such as "Mo' Beta" or "Femme Vitale" or "C
Monster". And for a quick meal while driving i eat UnRibs (previously
discussed BBQ sauced seitan) out of their little plastic bag or some
compressed seasoned tofu. No, i'm not vegetarian, i actually like the
stuff.
