[Sca-cooks] RE: Sparklers and Fireworks

Greetings.

I have been rather amused by the tales of sparklers and fireworks that have been being shared since the fourth of July.

What I find especially amusing is that there is a long tradition for books of recipes in the 16th and 17th centuries to contain both recipes for foods and medicinal purposes and then veer off into fireworks. There are really notable examples where the subtitle of the book ends with "and fireworks."
