Hate to disappoint such enthusiasm, Finnebhir, but
plums dried out are just that- dried plums. Prunes are
a different, closely related subspecies, as in all
prunes are plums, but not all plums are prunes.

But it's a common error, an urban myth- most (fruit)
farmers know better ;-)
