My father worked in Saudi Arabia for years and the fondest memories I have
are of him coming home with 'packing' in his suitcase. He found out that the
bags of fresh spices they sold in the soukes were just the right size to
prevent his beloved railways from getting damaged.the list was wonderful
Saffron
proper pepper
all spice
ginger
cinnamon.....ground and whole
cloves
chillis
etc
And I'm the only cook in the family.
I still have a cupboard full.
