Hi all. Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

It seems to me that if chestnuts are not really fresh they tend to get bad
spots in them. I had some sitting on my table for about a week and they
almost all went moldy. On the other hand, the ones I just bought from
Restaurant Depot were shiny and very fresh. Oh, and I have a great story
too. When I went to the place to get my 5 pounds for $12.00 the fellow had
not bagged them up yet so told me that if I started bagging them while he
ran to get labels he would give me extra. OK says I and began bagging while
he trots off. He came back and I had bagged 5 pounds and set them on the
scale and he adds an extra pound. Great! thinks I and set off for the
checkout. After standing in line forever it finally gets to be my turn.
The chestnuts ring up for $1.00. I say, "that cann't be right" and after a
small discussion the floor manager says "it's right, that's what rang up".
So off I go with my holiday chestnuts and a big thank you!
