Uh-oh... sounds like she's related to my ex -in-laws. They believe in
America, Mom, overcooked apple pie, boughten pumpkin pies, vegetables
cooked until they are well and truly dead (odie green, mostly), greasy
mashed potatoes, and a turkey you could slam on the counter and yell
"It's dead, I tell you! Deceased! Passed on! This turkey has ceased to
be!!" and lose none of it's appeal... I escaped but it wasn't easy...

Have to admit there were plenty of Dead Parrot jokes in the kitchen
while we were maiming the turkey. "'E's pinin' for the fjords!" being
the favorite...

still doing my duty to rid the Western World of leftovers! And thinking
that Chinese takeout would be really nice...
