This is a good point. I know it's one of the reasons
I have only done one stint as head cook and do not
plan on doing another anytime soon - as well as one of
the reasons I'm not looking forward to autocratting.
I have an almost phobic fear of asking for help. It's
really difficult for me to ask anyone for anything
even when I know them, and almost impossible if I
don't know them well enough to know they'll say yes.
It's really a self-confidence issue that I've been
working on, but hard to overcome. I've assisted in
the kitchen and love doing it, but when it comes to
being in charge I freeze up. I'm hoping that I just
have a worse case then most people because it is a
major hurdle in getting new head cooks.
