Sorry if this isn't clear. Sca-cooks at yahoogroups.com is meant for the
file storage area and for recipies and people wanting to participate
in the exchange. It is a different service than
sca-cooks at ansteorra.org.... gunthar doesn't have anything to do with
it, so please don't bother him about it. (although i will make you a
moderator if you do join, gunthar.) (if you want that is.)

If you want to look at the files section, then you just go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sca-cooks/files you don't have to be a
member of yahoogroups to browse.

The database section is only accessable to those who have an account
with yahoogroups. (It's free and pretty easy to set one up)

This is a possibility...

the advantage is you don't have to go through the yahoogroups
membership stuff It would also be fairly customizable.

the disadvantage is it's not easy to transfer management if Boroghul
ever decides he doesn't have time to deal with it or just doesn't want
to run it any longer.

A Yahoo group is easy to transfer ownership (or have multiple people
help run it), has most of the features already, is fairly automated in
its operation, and is already set up.

I don't mind if you want to transfer it though.

be safe,
