My mother, when we were living near Rochester NY, once potted up a very
non-productive (but luxuriant) pepper plant from the garden in a fit of
pique. (My father kept wantering around muttering about Nitrogen.) The
Pepper plant lived through the winter (in our drafty old
turn-of-not-this-century house) and was planted in the garden the next
spring. Of course it never grew a single pepper, though.
