Noble Cousin!

Greetings from Solveig! Chinooks operate by adaibatic (sp) heating or
cooling and depend up winds blowing either up or down a slope. Whether
or not you get them depends upon the local terrain. Bremerton is right
on Puget Sound and is less succeptible to them than elsewhere. I grew
up hearing the word and experiencing the phenomenon.
