Correct. Specifically, sable is another name for black cod.

In New York, you can get smoked fish at most local neighborhood grocery
deli counters, especially in neighborhoods with lots of Jews - smoked
whitefish (called "chubs"), smoked sable, smoked salmon (although you'll
more usually find lox, which isn't smoked). Try a grocery or kosher deli
in the Jewish part of town.
